It’s About Time - Robin Shelton & Alison Shelton-Brown - 7th to 13th October - Open Daily 1000-1700

Alison Brown and Robin Shelton met in late 2017 after they had been selected to put on an exhibition together after winning first and second prizes respectively earlier that year in an open show.

Married in 2021, they share a home, a studio and a life together in rural east Devon. Alison (now Shelton Brown) creates beguiling and intriguing ceramic art that investigates the interstices between wall and body, wearability and vulnerability, whilst always being environmentally mindful. Robin’s practice incorporates jewellery drawn on a scale of 1:1 in three dimensions, collage, drawing and photography reliant solely on a tiny pinhole.

For this exhibition especially, Alison will be concentrating on a bird theme and tells us “have featured in my art practice for over forty years, I regularly seem to find something magical and new to say about them, be it in feather, song, or environmental impact. We don’t have much time to make a difference to the decline in bird populations worldwide.”

In addition, the exhibition will feature a new installation featuring video and mixed media will debut along with other recent works which both artists still resonate with

Alison and Robin are very excited to be putting on their fist two-person show “It’s About Time” at The Malthouse Gallery, Lyme Regis, this October, running from the 7th to the 13th.
