“In this collection I explore the quiet enduring presence of trees and the landscapes they inhabit. The images emphasize texture, contrast and form, revealing the raw essence of nature. Each photograph tries to capture moments of stillness and is an invitation to pause, to see beyond the obvious and to find beauty in simplicity. It is a meditation on nature’s quiet strength and a reflection on the delicate balance between permanence and change.”
After an eighteen-year career in the entertainment business in music artist management, Andrew spent ten years working with the creator of Bob the Builder, producing and monetising children’s television projects including Fifi and the Flowertots, Roary the Racing Car and Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, which taught him the significance of capturing the viewers’ attention and framing carefully considered images.
Andrew and his wife moved to West Sussex in 2015 where he turned his attention to his lifelong passion for photography. He was first published in 2016.
In 2018 they relocated to a village near Bridport in West Dorset where he focused on its abundant wildlife and the stunning landscapes that Dorset have to offer. Developing his own style, he enjoys harnessing Dorset’s wonderful light and particularly how it can be interpreted in black and white photography.
In 2023 he was selected as a finalist for the Marshwood Art Awards, the selection panel including Sir Don McCullin and Mike Kus. In the same year he was published in Black and White photography magazine.
In 2021, 22, 23 and 2024 he held solo exhibitions at both the Malthouse and Courtyard galleries in Lyme Regis and had further exhibitions at the Eype Centre for the Arts, also showing at the Bridport and Ilminster Art Centres.
